Forklift Operator
Primary responsibilities are to operate a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack and count products. Load and unload materials and deliveries and move them into storage areas. Remove product from / deliver product to assembly lines, paint line and assembly area. Load trucks both in a loading dock and in an open space.
Key Skills and Competencies
Must possess general welding and mechanical skills.
- Must be able to operate a forklift.
- Must be able to operate a RF scanner gun.
- Forklift certification per OSHA standards.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to read a tape measure and use hand tools.
- Must be able to read parts manuals to identify required parts and to understand their relationship to adjoining parts.
- Must be able to communicate both written and oral as it relates to the job.
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
- Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division.
- Must be able to lift and handle components weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to work with others, as some tasks require two individuals.
- Must be able to work without constant supervision.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Loading and unloading products from vehicles such as trucks, containers and flatbeds.
- Perform daily equipment checks of equipment.
- Assemble packaged equipment and / or components for shipment.
- Must be able to properly move products packed on pallets or in crates around the warehouse or shipping area.
- Stacking products in correct storage racks, following inventory control instructions.
- Checking loads are secure.
- Stacking empty pallets.
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner.
- Report any material discrepancies or material defects to area supervisor.
- Operates lifting devices for movement of products and other equipment as needed.
- Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly.
- Abide by company safety and personnel policies.
- Carry out any other responsibilities that supervisor may assign from time to time or as needed by the company.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Personal Protective Equipment Requirements:
- Safety Glasses while in factory.
- Steel Toe Footwear while in factory.
- Hearing protection as required per job.
